We meet at Ramsey Leisure Centre on Friday evenings from the second week of September 2009 to the end of April 2010 at 7.30 pm. There are three 40 minute sessions:
  • 19:30 - come and try it and beginners coaching,
  • 20:10 - coaching of rolling and general progression,
  • 20:50 - coaches and advanced paddlers get a chance to play.

Venue Ramsey Leisure Centre, Abbey Road, Ramsey, PE26 1DP (next to Ailwyn School - click here for a map).

Cost (as of winter 2009/2010)
  • Members: £5 per session (adults and children alike)
  • Coaches: £1 for the last session if they are coaching during the earlier sessions.

Equipment
Kayaks, paddles and spray-decks are available (included in the cost). You can bring your own equipment with which to practice but kayaks must be scrupulously clean inside and out or they will not be allowed in the pool. Metal-rimmed paddles are not allowed.

Clothing
A bathing costume and towel are all that you will need. Hot showers are available!

Activities
A swimming pool is an ideal place to perfect the wetter skills such as support strokes, capsize drill, eskimo rescues and rolling. Coaches are available to assist, usually on a 1:1 basis.
