| Announcement: Freestyle event - something for you young 'un's |
| Posted: JasonP @ Sun Aug 08, 2010 8:10 pm |
The GB Freestyle Committee would like to invite your club to the freestyle club championships on 2/3 October 2010 at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham.
The weekend event is open to paddlers of all abilities with a scoring system which will enable novices to score lots of points in the open event (e.g for rolling, side surfing, enders, cartwheels, loops) as well as the international scoring system (phonix monkeys, Mcnasties, etc) for all those experienced freestylers who want to enter the elite event.
Pyranha have kindly donated a boat to be won by the club with the most points (points will be awarded for individual performances in the freestyle as well as down river/boater x events).
Alongside the freestyle competition there will be coaching, freestyle star awards (details to be confirmed), fun river racing/boater x (details to be confirmed), demo boats and live music for the Saturday evening party.
It will be an exciting weekend of action with all the top Brtitish Freestylers showing off their skills and offering encouragement. Where else can a novice measure his achievement against a World Champion?
Details of the weekend's events are still to be confirmed but please register your interest (or the interest of any of your club members) by e mailing myself (flea@fionajarvie.co.uk) and we will send out further information as it becomes available.
Kind regards,
Fiona Jarvie (GB Freestyle Secretary)
P.s for all your youth freestylers there are still 2 more youth freestyle events for this year. See www.youthfreestyle.com for details.
