| Welcome to Packers |
Packers is a club for kayakers and canoeists based in Peterborough, UK and is the leading coaching club in Eastern England. Of the c.140 members, around 25 hold coaching qualifications in kayak or open canoe disciplines. This gives members an unrivaled opportunity to develop their skills and gain qualifications if they so wish. Beginners are always welcome and we have all the necessary equipment to get you started.
Activities:
- Regular Thursday evening club nights through the summer (May to September)
- Regular Wednesday evening coaching sessions also through the summer (May to September)
- Regular Friday evening swimming pool sessions through the winter (October to April)
- Weekend trips to white-water venues (e.g. Dee, Tryweryn, Dart, Swale, Ure, Tees)
- Longer expeditions in the summer (e.g. Alpine trips, Paddling on the sea, Canoe camping trips in Scotland)
- A wide variety of training events
- Assessments for BCU qualifications
- Social events

We now have 43 people expecting to be on the Swale trip and I am struggling to get them all accomodated at Grinton Lodge. If anyone else wishes to join the trip please be aware that you may need to either camp at the hostel or find your own accomodat...

Is anyone interested in doing a WW Safety and Rescue course in February. I am probably going to the Lake District to re-do mine (Canoe England requirements). It'll be a laugh and good experience.

The annual trip to the Swale will take place during the last weekend of February and we will once again be staying in Grinton Lodge Youth Hostel. This trip is great for anyone just getting into white water paddling as the Swale is ideal for beginners...
